This is a nice-looking tie. Works well with my dark brown sport coat that has the popular herringbone-like pattern in it. This one falls short of 5 stars because of its size. It's certainly not clownish, but it is larger than other ties of its type. The edge of the "wings" are a tad over 2¾-inches in height. Just a couple of 16th's short of 3-inches. For this tie to blend well, the jacket needs to have a fairly wide lapel. Otherwise the size of this tie will take over the outfit.
This is one of my favorite bow ties. The olive and burgundy combination is a little out of the ordinary, but I think that's why it's such an "attention-getter". It's conservative but not "stuffy". It works well with a yellow dress shirt being bright but not "girly" or just plain weird. It's nicely made and the price is right too.
